Strida LT Folding Bike Review 2018
Strida LT Folding Bike
The Strida LT Folding Bike is not your everyday folding bicycle. You will not be using this unique looking folding bike for long commutes. This bicycle was designed more for shorter commutes and for fun times in the park or your neighborhood. This Strida LT is simple to fold up, taking the average user an incredible 6 seconds flat to fold, and more amazingly the bike weighs in at an just 20 pounds. The bike’s weight is almost 25% lighter than the majority of the competing folding bikes in the same class.
The first thing you are going to notice about the Strida LT bike is the design, the triangular frame incorporates new bicycle geometry not seen in almost 100 years. The lightweight aluminum frame has been designed to give the rider a comfortable upright sitting position, with an excellent view of the road. The shape of this bike allows it to fold in almost 5 seconds, keeping you on the move quickly in your commute.
The Strida LT folding bike has many unique features, including a kevlar belt driving the bike in place of a chain, rustproof components, and a single speed gear. With all the attention given to the simplicity of these components, your kevlar belt never needs to be adjusted, cleaned or lubricated like a traditional bicycle chain would. You will immediately notice the increased acceleration of the LT model due to the smaller size of the wheels. These smaller wheels also help you to turn on a dime if needed, a great addition to this smaller folding bike.
I am impressed overall with the quality of the Strida LT, this bike is light and easy to carry, both in the folded and unfolded position. After riding it for a few miles you will notice how the belt drive is clean and quiet. You don’t realize it right away because you are so used to hearing a chain driven gear, to hear no noise actually takes some getting used to (similar to how it feels to drive a Toyota Prius the first time when its in electric mode). Strida has some amazing engineers on the job, English designer and engineer Mark Sanders spent sixteen years refining the design of this Strida LT folding bike, so you know that this bike has had some extensive testing before it hit the stores.
The wheelbase on the Strida LT is noticeably smaller than those of traditional folding bikes on the market today. You will love how you can fit this folded bike in just about any space, at 45″ x 20″ x 9″ you can put the bike under your desk, in a closet or alongside your cubicle at work without inconveniencing your coworkers. A bonus feature of the Strida LT is that is comes with a rear luggage rack for carrying your suitcase, lunch or gym bag, but the best part of this rack is that when the bike is folded the rack turns into a carrying stand for added usability. Whether you are six feet tall just over five feet, the bike can handle you and give you an enjoyable riding experience.
